Why we're betting the next wave of vertical SaaS is compliance-native, not compliance-adjacent with Hireyoo

Most HR software sold to Philippine MSMEs is compliance-adjacent. It manages leave requests, tracks attendance, and generates payslips, then leaves SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR filings as a manual step bolted on afterward, in a separate spreadsheet, portal, or accountant's inbox.


That gap is the product opportunity everyone keeps stepping over.

Compliance-adjacent tools optimize for convenience. Compliance-native tools optimize for correctness, because getting Philippine statutory compliance wrong isn't a bad review, it's back contributions and liability that follows the employer long after the subscription ends.


We didn't arrive at this thesis from a whiteboard. It came from running payroll and compliance operations for real companies, at real statutory deadlines, for over a decade. Twelve-plus years and 100+ client companies taught us where every existing HR tool quietly hands the hard part back to the employer: the four-agency registration stack, the contribution remittance calendar, the audit trail regulators actually ask for.


That operating history is the foundation Hireyoo is built on: a compliance engine designed to survive an actual BIR or SSS audit, wrapped in software an MSME owner can run without a dedicated HR compliance hire.


We think this is where vertical SaaS in the Philippines is headed generally, not just in HR. Category winners won't be the tools with the most integrations. They'll be the tools that absorb their vertical's regulatory complexity so completely that compliance stops being something the customer has to think about. Compliance-native beats compliance-adjacent because the failure mode of "adjacent" isn't inconvenience, it's exposure.
